PRAYER - "Confession with Restitution"
Sometimes it is not good enough just to say "I'm sorry." Sometimes we owe a debt that must be repaid. God instructed Moses to tell the people not only to repay the principal of the trespass, but to add a fifth-part penalty - a twenty percent surcharge. Words alone are worthless if your deeds contradict them.

Numbers 5:7 - "Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed."  Let's read the story.  Bible

Words Worth Gold
PRINCIPALS - "Forfeiting Gold"
Nowadays, people do not talk about this much, but it is a big deal in the ancient story. After the children of Israel offended God so profoundly by worshiping the golden calf, they turned in all their gold. Eventually, God commanded that all gold be surrendered either to the Tabernacle or the kingdom - no privately held gold.

Exodus 35:22 - "And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD." Let's read the story.  Bible and Commentery

PRINCIPLE Jealous God"

God promised Israel a holy land, but commanded them to remove every false god. God will not share His glory or tolerate spiritual adultery. Our love for Him must be undivided. Love not the world.  Don't create a negative reaction between you and God.

Exodus 34:12 - "Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God."Let's read the story.  Bible and Commentery

PROPHECIES - "The Brazen Laver"After the Priest sacrificed at the Brazen Altar, he had to wash himself at the Brazen Laver before entering the Holy Place. The laver is a typological and prophetic symbol of water baptism in the New Testament. The altar represents repentance. The laver followed, illustrating our need to be baptized for the remission of our sins after we have repented.

Exodus 30:18,20 - "Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal... When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not." Let's read the story. Bible and Commentery
